How TWS Encourages Fathers to Engage in Their Child’s Education?

Similar to our last post, where we had discussed the importance of home, school, and community,
we are back with yet another piece on parent’s engagement. This time around, we will talk
particularly about father’s involvement in child’s education. We will also share some real stories
where TWS has successfully encouraged the father figures of many local families to come forward
and take part in their child’s education.
So, without further ado, let’s get educated … with the facts!

Father Involvement in Child’s Education: An Insight

At the Walkway School, encouraging father’s engagement in the education of children is more than common courtesy. We believe that it is one of the epic ways to create a constructive and healthy learning environment for every student at TWS.

That being said, we would like to also inform our readers [as per TWS] father engagement is defined only when they start releasing their role and share shoulders with educators, school, and children, simultaneously.

The biggest challenge, however, we had faced in this regard is that the father involvement is lowest to non-existing in families with low-income while the majority of our children belong to families that fall below the poverty line, who aren’t bilingual, or have never been to a proper school themselves.

Meanwhile, our volunteers and teachers struggle to bridge this gap. They persistently assist them in learning and meeting academic targets while simultaneously creating a positive impact on the society.

In order to provide a better support system, the Walkway School arranges activities that involve fathers such as quarterly meetings and annual events. Not to mention, some of the fathers volunteer their unconditional support at home as well as at school. They are a great part of this social and communal change and they make a commitment to do better every day.

A Glimpse into Some Real Stories

With the constant struggle of volunteers at TWS, parents [especially fathers] prioritise their child’s educational goals, while teachers commit to listening and providing a safe haven for family and school collaboration.

That being said, here is a personal account of a father-cum-superhero that makes us all proud.

Adam Khan – the proud father of Bisma and Ismail – is dry cleaner by profession. Although he’s never been to school, he wishes to educate his children. In order to achieve his goal, he’s not only making sure of his children’s education, but also supporting his siblings to send their children to school as well. Owing to his determination, Bisma was recently enrolled in her dream school i.e., Sparks School while he continues to inspire many families in the locality.

So, this is where we will wrap up our piece. Tell us what you think about the impact of father’s involvement in child’s education at our Facebook page. For more interesting posts, keep visiting the blog section of our website.
