Who Are We?

In the summer of 2018, a child beggar changed the lives of many around them for the better when the child approached two friends sipping tea in a local cafe. Child’s presence served as a bitter reminder of the sad state of underprivileged children in our society. Soon sympathy turned into empathy, discussion turned into initiative and dreams turned into action. With a vow to replace begging bowls with pencils, two friends turned co-founders started a youth-led action to start The Walkway School in Pakistan.

The Walkway School (TWS) was founded upon the belief that all children deserve the access to education regardless of their backgrounds and that all of them have the ability to be outstandingly brilliant in the classroom. TWS proactively works for creating safe spaces for children and providing them easy, safe and equal as well as equitable educational opportunities. Our aim is to not only empower children from underdeveloped and long ignored communities through education but also uplift the rural communities to become resilient and sustainable.

TWS is an international award winning Hyderabad – Pakistan based youth-led organization that works on enabling the access to education in the country’s rural south, Sindh – Pakistan. In its fifth year now, TWS has enabled access to education for over 4,000 children and empowered over 200 communities while expanding into five geographic locations. By 2025, TWS aims at creating an ecosystem of 50 low-cost sustainable school buildings along with access to water in rural communities which will have the capacity to accommodate over 20,000 children in the next decade.

The Walkway School has been operational for over 5 years now and is providing the underprivileged children and communities an easy, safe and affordable access to education as well as water in rural Pakistan.

We seek your continuous support to provide these kids what is their right: Education!
