TWS—Jhampo

Welcome to TWS—Jhampo!

In the remote village of Jhampo, located in Taluka Islamkot, District Tharparkar, The Walkway School (TWS) has become a beacon of educational opportunity for farming families across its 400 households. Addressing the lack of accessible education in this desert region, TWS established a hut-style school building tailored to the local environment and community needs.

To combat the intense heat of Tharparkar’s climate, TWS equipped the school with a solar power system and fans, ensuring that students can learn in a cool, sustainable environment even during extreme weather.

Currently, the school supports over 100 primary students, fostering inclusivity by providing education to both boys and girls. Beyond primary education, TWS extends tuition support to 15 middle school students—graduates of the primary school—ensuring they can continue their educational journeys. This initiative reflects a steadfast commitment to breaking barriers to education and empowering the youth of Jhampo to thrive despite the region’s challenges.

Through this comprehensive approach, TWS not only delivers quality education but also instills hope and resilience in a community striving to overcome the hardships of life in a desert environment.
